30/09/14 - Chapter 2 Examples

1. Examples of enculturation:
  • A child who is studying history in the school
  • Going to some places to see the traditional events since you are small.
  • Live with the family; they teach traditions and the way they live
2. Verbal and non verbal language:
  • Verbal: Basically, when we talk. "Hello", "hola", "kaixo", when you are saying this you are using verbal language. When we sing the "San Fermin's" song before the bull running.
  • Non verbal: you can only watch this symbolls, you can´t hear them. Gestures to say hello, with the hand, the head, shaking hands... Or giving two kisses when you meet someone.
3. Natural: 
In Spain is natural to eat around two.

4. Aspects of our culture:
From Spain:
  • Dantza: typical dance of Navarre and  the Basque country
  • Txalaparta: instrument to make music
  • Pintxo: Small amount of foof tipical in the North of Spain
From France:
  • Quiche
  • Macaroons
  • Crepe
5. Core values of one culture: 
The food, religion, traditions, thoughts, ideology, behavior...

6. Things that are in all cultures, in the majority of them and in some of them:
  •  Universal: weddings, music, education..
  •  Generality: religion, girls education..
  •  Particulary: potato omelette, burka..
7. My ideal culture: 
My ideal culture would be the one that respects all cultures and traditions. It would be the one that shares them, so all people can learn the different tradition and enrich themselves.
